After I had a work injury, my company had the good sense to send me to a chiropractor in Phoenix. I was kind of surprised, frankly. Chiropractors sometimes get a bad rap from the medical profession. I figured my company would send me to the emergency room, pay the bill as required by law, and get me back to work as quickly as possible. Someone in the company is a lot savvier than that. You could so far as to say they actually care about their employees’ physical well being. I’m thankful someone had the foresight.
You see, my injury required treatment coupled with physical therapy after the injury started to heal. It wouldn’t have worked if I’d gone right back to work. Actually, it could have caused a permanent injury if went right back. The company sent me to see a chiropractor in order to come up with an effective physical therapy regimen that would insure my good health and a fruitful recovery. At first I didn’t care for the number of visits I would need to get better, but after I went for the first time? You bet I felt better about all those impending visits.
I could tell right from the start that the physical therapy was exactly what my body needed. They would have me up and walking around, bending over to pick up small objects, and all the visits included some serious stretching and pulling of my various limbs. I probably looked like a doofus doing all this stuff, but I sure felt better. In fact, I improved so quickly that I didn’t even have to go to my last six therapy sessions. I returned to work earlier than expected and to this day I’d like to personally thank the person who had the wisdom to send me to the chiropractor.
